Crossover: classics recomposed.

The incredibly interesting and exciting experiment of orchestrating famous operatic melodies to big bands has been attempted in many parts of the world from America to Finland. Music is considered to know no boundaries between genres, lands or any other kind. The result proves that distances between opera and jazz, or opera and modern music are not that big. On the contrary! The Opera invited three composers including the conductor of the band, Sándor Balogh as well as Zoltán Kovács and Péter Pejtsik to orchestrate popular operatic tunes, classic songs and pieces to a big band. The members of the Opera Big B®and are musicians of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra.
