Director general of the Hungarian State Opera, host of the gala
Born in Veszprém, he studied trumpet, trombone and piano at the local music school, later at the Liszt Ferenc College in Győr and the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in Budapest as an opera singer. Following his years as singing and opera history teacher, he became managing director of the Erkel Theatre, then communications director of the Opera. He took only a few years’ break from the Opera, but even then he worked as a music critic as well. He made radio and television programmes before winning the position of general manager of Duna Television. Since 2011 his life revolves around the Hungarian State Opera once again. First as a government commissioner, then acting, since 2012 as director general of the institute.
